About Me

I am a volunteer counsellor, in Bangalore.

I have been a counsellor at Prasanna Counselling Center in 1997, and since 2008, at Samadhana Counselling Center, Bengaluru.  Both are voluntary organisations, rendering yeoman service.  No charges for counselling, or for psychiatric consultation.

By profession, I am a banker with over 35 years of service.  Currently, I am an independent consultant, mainly involved in training, or implementing the following:

Audit in Micro Finance Institutions [MFI]

Training in Audit, as well as field level processes in Micro Finance Institutions [MFI]

Seva or service to those in need gives me immense satisfaction; counselling is so fulfilling to me and seeing a smile on the face of the distressed client is a reward in itself :-)  .

Anticipatory anxiety for the hearing impaired

    Many people are undergoing anxiety or feeling that all is not well, nowadays. This anxiety relates to 3 major areas : 1. Health - either own health, or health of loved ones. 2. Loss - loss of job, loss of freedom to go anywhere at a moment's notice. 3. Daily routines have changed drastically. While all are worried about health, it relates more to worry about isolation.  Images of people dying alone have created a fear psychosis or an anticipatory anxiety.  We all worry about our loved ones having to cope up with isolation. What family members of the mentally ill go through

A person who falls ill , whether physically or mentally, has to go through a lot of suffering.  But I am now ruminating on the caregivers and family. They go though a whole cycle of sorrow, regret,anger, denial...... almost as if there is a death in the family.
